Food ...

Today is the first Tuesday of the month and that means it's time for Quilt Block Mania blog tour day - YAY!!

November 2021- This month's FREE quilt block theme is Food with beautiful vibrant tones for our colour way.

When thinking about a design for a food block, many of the fall themed food such as pumpkins, corn, squash and apples were already chosen so... I decided to go with my favourite summer fruit - Strawberries!!! Yum Yum

Plus this will pair really well with our Bee Skep block for any kind of summer sampler!  

When I was little, I loved tagging along with my Mom to the strawberry patch to help fill our baskets with fresh strawberries to make her famous freezer jam! 

The only thing was, I wasn't really a whole lot of help as I would fill my face instead of my basket lol!! 

Knowing this, Mom would always joke with the cashier .... "maybe before we go in we should weigh her!!" ... And I always wondered why she would pay for an "extra empty basket" !?! 

But I didn't stop there... oh no, I would eat some more on the way home, well... I had to even out the baskets you know! Then some more while cleaning and preparing the strawberries, so much that I would complain about a belly ache... but even that didn't seem to stop me as I would then of course need a bowl of freshly prepared strawberries that I was looking forward to alllll day, well since the moment I knew we were headed for the patch!!!! I just couldn't help it...
