Today is the first Tuesday of the month and that means it's time for Quilt Block Mania blog tour day - YAY!!

August - This month's quilt block theme is Picnic/BBQ with a fresh vibrant colour way.

Picnic, BBQ's... reminds me of simple easy breezy summer days... gathering with family and friends, watching the kids jump in and out of the pool or off the dock at the lake, sneaking treats from the desert area every chance they get ;) 

Just like summertime wouldn't be complete without  picnic or BBQ gatherings; It also just wouldn't be a summertime sampler quilt without a Bee Skep... with it's beautiful vibrant yellows and happy little prints!! ;)

It was so much fun to pick through my golds to create this whimsy Bee Skep. Anytime, I create, I always go thru the scrap stash first before adding from the main stash.

Is that how you select your fabrics?

… ohhh and you'll love how quickly this block comes together... create your door unit, stitch the backgrounds with the golds, assemble your rows and bonus no intersections!! Woohoo!!

     
Not only is this a great sampler block it would also make a fabulous stash busting quilt!!

I can't wait to see it in the Quilting BEE!!
