Long Arm Quilting

I have been long arm quilting on a Gammill Classic quilting machine with over a thousand tops completed since that very exciting day when my Gammill was first delivered in 2004, with several of my customer quilts winning ribbons all across Canada.

I offer a full range of services to suit your needs and budget. From edge to edge designs to custom/heirloom work to everything in between. All quilting is done freehand (not computerized) in my smoke free, pet free studio. Being a pattern designer/quiltmaker, I understand the time, energy and love that goes into every aspect of piecing a top and it is my goal to partner with you to enhance your unfinished top into a one of a kind finished quilt.  Every quilt starts with a free, no obligation consultation to determine the best plan for your quilt.   Local quilters are seen by appointment or you may ship your quilt. Please contact me regarding shipping procedures.

In our studio we carry a wide variety of quality quilting thread both in variegated and solid colour to ensure that you always have the perfect match, a selection of 108”wide backs in both 100% cotton and flannel, as well as, five different types of batting.

Feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

Quilting services are based per square foot. To calculate, multiply the width by the length, divide by 144 sq ft x rate = price
Example:   All over meandering for a quilt top size 48 x 64
48 x 64 = 3072 divided by 144 = 21.33 x $3 = $64.00

All Over Meandering:
Medium size stippling design applied over the entire quilt.
$3.00 sq ft

Edge to Edge:
Creative free motion design to enhance the piecework of your quilt, applied over the entire quilt. The pricing varies slightly depending on the size and density of the chosen design.
$4.00 - $6.00 sq ft

Same as edge to edge, with overall free motion design in the body of the quilt and a different design applied to the borders. The pricing varies slightly depending on the number of borders and the chosen designs.
$6.00-$10.00 sq ft

Custom Quilting:
Free hand, one of a kind, original quilting designs, specifically customized for each block, sashing and borders. Usually requires several starts and stops and stitch in the ditch.
$12.00 sq ft & up

Heirloom Quilting:
Original, free hand, intricate, heavily quilted, labour intensive designs such as crosshatching, grids, background fills, wholecloth patterns etc., requiring the quilt to be hand-marked. This type of quilting is usually seen in show quilts.
