My Quilting Journey
Join me in my quilting adventure as I share what began as a hobby to a business in the quilting industry. This presentation features a large collection of quilts including my personal collection, my pattern designs, custom long arm quilts, their stories and what inspired them.
This trunk show runs between 60-90 mins including time for Q&A.

Two Day Workshops
Learn to Quilt

This beginner class was designed with the new quilter in mind. Create a beautiful wall hanging or table topper while learning the basics of quiltmaking. You will be introduced to accurate rotary cutting, speed sewing, perfect piecing and appliqué. This class also covers borders and machine quilting right out to the final touches of binding, sleeve and label. Have fun learning the basics of quiltmaking while completing your first project!
Blooming Stars Mini Sampler

This original sampler is loaded with so many different techniques such as, half square triangles, triangle in a square, flying geese, sashing and decorative borders with appliqué. Join us to create this beautiful mini sampler while learning new skills or even as a great refresher. Lots of information to be shared!
Full Day (6 hour) Workshops
Machine Appliqué
Students will learn a variety of appliqué techniques, both finished and raw-edge; different fusible webbings as well as their appropriate uses.
We will also play with various threads for finishing and embellishments. These appliqué methods can then be applied to any of your appliqué projects.

Cinnamon Stars Runner
2 different stars and 3 different techniques is what you will learn while using Eleanor Burns fabulous time saving rulers to make this original on point “Cinnamon Stars” runner!


Ava’s Medallion
Start with two simple blocks, squares and half square triangles, to create this stunning quilt. Learn the easy magic 8 method to create multiple half square triangles with only 2 fabrics. The more scraps the merrier, students are encouraged to really clean out the scrap bin by bringing extra to swap with others to create a larger variety in your quilt. Many layout options will be provided for this fun quilt.
Half Day (3 ½ hour) Workshops
Machine Quilting Series
Let’s get those tops finished! Learn from a professional long arm quilter! Sew many tips and tricks will be shared to achieve beautiful quilting results on your domestic machine.

Machine Quilting – Introduction
Learn all the basics of machine quilting, the tools & equipment necessary to do the job. Use your walking foot and darning foot to a fuller potential.
Practice free motion quilting. Learn about battings, threads, needles and their different uses.
Machine Quilting – Free Motion Fun
Now that you know the basics of machine quilting, explore beyond stippling and go wild with your darning foot. Explore fabulous free motion designs including background fills and overall patterns.

Machine Quilting – Feathers
Free hand feathers – the possibilities are endless. Create beautiful designs with a variety of easy feather techniques.
Fees
Trunk show/Lecture: $200 plus expenses
*A table and space provided to sell patterns after the trunk show would be greatly appreciated.

Full Day Workshop: $500.00 plus expenses
Half Day Workshop: $250.00 plus expenses

Mileage is calculated at $.40/km from Rapids Rd, Tweed ON
Lodging (if necessary): Private accommodation in a non-smoking room with internet access in a hotel or motel.
Meals: Three meals per full day to be provided/paid for by the Quilt Guild.
